History: According to her ID, Diana was born on October, 14. The truth is no one really knows when she was born, she just appeared at the hospital's entrance one night tucked inside a carton box with some blankets. She wasn't crying or claiming for attention, in fact, no one would have noticed her if it hadn't been for a nurse that started her shift passed by and saw her by the corner of her eye.
They found her a foster family almost immediately, the Curtis, a couple in their thirties that had tried in every way possible to have a child of their own but, unfortunately, didn't succeed. They ended up accepting adoption as the only way to be parents, and it was then when Diana came to their lives. They treated her as if she was her own daughter, and she never asked who her real parents were.
They noticed very soon that there was something different about her. It was little things at first, like the way she rarely cried or how caught up she looked in he own thoughts. Then began the disappearances. She would disappear for a few hours, and her parents would look everywhere for her. When they were thinking of calling the police, she was suddenly in her crib again, as if she hadn't moved from there. After the fifth time her parents stopped freaking out and just waited for her to appear again, but it wasn't until she was two years old that her mother saw her turning invisible and they could finally figure out exactly what happened with her. They guessed her power came from her biological parents, but there was no way they could know for sure.
They didn't talk about it, but it wasn't like Diana talked much anyway. She had always been a quiet child, and although her parents thought starting school would make her more social it only proved them wrong. She didn't bring friends at home for sleepovers, and she didn't have crushes on the cutest boy in class. Her parents were afraid she was being bullied, but after a meeting with the head master it turned out she barely payed attention to the kids who came to her to play. She sat alone and would only nod politely at anyone who attempted to start a conversation with her.
Years passed and she stayed the same. Eventually, they ended up admitting she wasn't going to change anytime soon, but they were okay with it. She had always been sweet to them, and they supposed high school would be a good experience for her. They weren't right. At first, the most popular kids bullied her for being weird, but they stopped when they saw she wasn't really affected by anything they said to her. She gave them cold looks and just ignored them until they got bored and went after more sensible preys. After finishing high school, she still had no idea of what to do with her life. She felt that her power should be used, not ignored, and refused to start college. She took a year off to traveled around the country, working as a waitress and all kind of ridiculous jobs until a recruiter found her. It wasn't difficult for him to convince her to join Upsilon, where her power would be useful and she would be needed.
Personality: Diana usually comes off as a shy person, but she's just not interested. She can be a bitch sometimes, and it seems she only thinks about herself, but there's some people she cares about and would do anything for them. She tries not to let emotions take the best of her, but can act a bit immature when facing someone she isn't too fond of. She likes to go unnoticed and hates when people start showing too much interest in her. She enjoys living in her litttle perfect world too much to let someone disturb the calm in it, so she just doesn't normally get too close to people, but when she does, she's the most loyal friend you can find. If high school changed her in any way, it just made her more cocky. She will give sarcastic replies to everyone she thinks who isn't as brilliant as her and she tends to look people over her shoulder. Despite that, if you earn her respect somehow she'll think of you with fondness even though she won't show it. After joining Upsilon, she's started to act a lot more mature. She's one of the youngest ones there, but hopes to get recognision no matter her age. Although she likes to act like a smartass, she's met some people that take profit of her naiveté and will use her although she may not realize half of the time. As intelligent as she claims to be, she still has a lot to learn about life, and she's learning the hard way. There's a part of her that isn't really sure she's picked the right side, but she ignores it most of the time. She tells herself morals will get her nowhere. Lines: |
